Retiring the free tier

We are changing how Supervisor works for new users, and we would rather be straight with you about what is changing and why than dress it up.

What is changing

From 13 July 2026, new accounts will no longer include the free tier. New users will choose a paid plan or Verified to start using Supervisor.

If you created your account before 13 July 2026, nothing changes. You keep your free tier exactly as it is. Consider it a thank you to the people who backed us early.

Why we are doing this

There are three honest reasons.

Bots and abuse. A free tier is a magnet for automated abuse. People spin up throwaway accounts and bots to farm free credits, which is unfair to real communities and costs us money for no benefit. Requiring a genuine payment raises the barrier for that kind of abuse in a way a free tier never can.

Cost. Running AI moderation is not free for us. Every message we analyze uses real compute, and giving that away at scale to accounts that may never become customers is not something we can keep doing.

Sustainability. We want Supervisor to be around for the long run, and that means being a healthy, profitable business rather than one running on goodwill and burn. Directing our resources toward paying customers, instead of an open free tier, is a big part of that.

What this means for you

• Accounts created before 13 July 2026: nothing changes. Your free tier stays.
• Accounts created on or after 13 July 2026: pick a plan that fits your community, or choose Verified, our one-time lifetime option. Everything is on the pricing page.

Verified is a single payment, with no subscription, that comes with a monthly credit allowance. It is the lowest-commitment way to get started.
